As the weather was quite cold and too cold to go fishing, the next trip was to Paul Bunyan Bowling. Outside the entrance is a large statue of Paul Bunyan and Babe. The bowling is pretty much as an English bowling alley and we all played pretty much as we did everywhere else we have played in the world!! The excitement, of course, was the competition between Emily, Richard and Edward, then Richard and Edward, eventually Zac joined in and the competitiveness grew, Stan couldn't be left out and things got to fever pitch when Rich and Ed were neck and neck in the lead! Ended up with them winning and getting the same score. Stan won the first game, only by two pins and came within a gnat's whisker of challenging the second one, thanks to his turkey.
More challenges ensued when we went to Buffalo Wild Wings, for drinks, wings and quiz. Buffalo Wild wings sells chicken wings, and you can buy up to 50 at a time, with a variety of sauces ranging from mild to searingly hot. By any other name it is a sports bar and has numerous large screens for viewing The Twins baseball games and any other local sport. It also has quiz machines which are hand held for putting in answers, but screens that display the questions and results of all the people in the bar taking part in the quiz. You could join and leave at any time, you just logged off. We split into 3 teams. We English were at a definite disadvantage as many of the variety of questions were biased towards Americans and subsequently Em and Zac won. A great time was had by all.
