Golfing

Maddens hosts three golf courses, East, West and the Classic. These have beautiful settings of the national trees of silver birch and cotton wood as well as the inevitable lakes. At this time of the year the trees are in full bloom, because at this time of the year summer has started (remember the snow on Friday?!). The golf courses have opened and everyone is keen to get going with their golf again. We went out to the East course and played 9 holes. This course is more forgiving than the other two courses with few hindrances. However, this does not mean that it is easy to play and we found out that this was the case. In America golf is not a sport that offers exercise. We had carts which we drove to all over the course and right up to the ball, so actually you walked no where! The course was reasonably empty and so we had a leisurely game in the beautiful sunshine (55 degrees F [USA still work in Fahrenheit, feet and inches, oz and lbs]). Although the play was poor the enjoyment was rich!
